Best I’ve ever used,
As a fuel inspector part of my job involves affixing the seal to all fuel pumps which have passed and been approved. The old pump decals will dry out and curl up due to weather exposure and must be removed. My scrapers get constant use five days a week. In an average day I would use it to remove forty or more decals.
I have used many different razor blade scrapers, and they invariably fail. Most have been the usual easily found hardware / paint store variety which retract when the thumb button is depressed. They are safe, but not very durable.
The Lisle 52000 uses standard single edged blades found anywhere. That is the only thing it has in common with other scrapers I have used. The Lisle is made in the USA, and is a durable and heavy duty tool.
To change blades or flip the blade over you depress the spring steel blade clamp, lift the blade out and flip it over or insert a new blade. It is very reliable and simple. I have used an imported model purchased at an auto parts store that is similar. The difference being that it was a straight in-line design, and the blade holding mechanism used a screw instead of a spring clamp. The angle of the head that holds the blade on the Lisle works better than a straight design, and the spring clamp does not work lose like a set screw does. The long handle and blade angle makes it easier to reach into corners and also provides extra leverage.
Sure, you could buy five of the two dollar models for the same price, but I would not trade the Lisle for twenty of those that it will outlast. Best part is the extra blade storage in the handle.
In short if you want to use a tool instead of being irritated by a tool buy the Lisle.

|Great for glass work!,
I bought one of these years ago and wanted to find two for gifts. Went to a few stores with no luck. Checked Amazon and ordered! Don’t know why I didn’t check here first.
